Bible – A Varied Menu🍏

Who all are foodies?

Well I am! We all love to try new  delights, from juicy to spicy!

But when it comes to cook for ourselves, after putting all our efforts we finally have our dish ready , and we enjoy a tasty culinary experience.

•But when it comes to SPIRITUAL FOOD for our Spirit ? Don’t you think it as important as the physical  food that we eat?

The Historic books, poetry, wisdom books, prophecy and many other parts of Bible strengthen us when our spirit is weak, gives us wisdom and encouragement . And just like the food nourishes our physical body, the spiritual nourishment is very important for our spiritual growth. It is the food which never becomes stale.

How I love your law! I think about it all day long.  Your commandment is with me all the time and makes me wiser than my enemies.  I understand more than all my teachers, because I meditate on your instructions.  I have greater wisdom than those who are old, because I obey your commands.  I have avoided all evil conduct, because I want to obey your word.  I have not neglected your instructions, for you yourself are my teacher.  How sweet is the taste of your instructions — sweeter even than honey!  I gain wisdom from your laws, and so I hate all bad conduct.    Psalms 119:97‭-‬104 🌿

God has given us a varied menu ➡ BIBLE so that we can be filled and satisfied.

•SO WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?

God  has set a table before us and he is inviting us for the day’s journey. We all are invited! Be ready to get all stuffed up. 🍏

Who’s the Audience?

Whoever offers praise glorifies Me. – Psalm 50:23

I used to view the worship service in Church as a time for entertainment, where we sang out loud, danced or sat in the audience, attentively watching the people on stage. If sufficiently entertained, we showed our gratitude with applause.

But one day a question popped up in my mind-  Was it all? Was it just entertainment? Who’s the Audience??

What matters the most takes place within the hearts of the congregation- not onstage. The question shouldn’t be “WHAT DID I GET OUT OF IT?”  But rather “WAS GOD PLEASED WITH WHAT HAPPENED?”

God specified every detail of animal sacrifice for the ancient Israelites in their worship. Yet he said – And yet I do not need bulls from your farms or goats from your flocks;  all the animals in the forest are mine and the cattle on thousands of hills.

Psalms 50:9‭-‬10

All He desires is our obedience and praise!

Giving thanks is the sacrifice that honours me, and I will surely save all who obey me.”    Psalms 50:23

We sometimes just focus on the externals of worship but we miss the point : The Lord is interested in the sacrifice of a true heart.

Our goal should be nothing less than to please our God.

“God Seeks People to Worship Him in Spirit and Truth”

                                     John 4:24

Truly Amazing ❤

I read these words on a young women’s profile : “I just want to be loved – and he has to be amazing!”

Isn’t that what we all want – to be loved, to feel cared for by someone? And so much the better if he or she is amazing!
The one who fits that description most fully is the one who left His Father in heaven and came down to the earth, lived a perfect life and gave His life as an offering to God. He took our place because we needed to be rescued from our sins.

Romans 5:8

“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.

He is our saviour and the one who loves us the most.

Looking for someone to love you? Jesus loves us so much more than anyone else possibly could. And He is truly amazing!

The wonder of it all – just to think that Jesus loves me ❤

Eating without Chewing 💭

Reading the Bible without reflecting is like eating without chewing. Sometimes we wolf it down as fast as we can like an open buffet offered to us  wondering why we haven’t learned much. But like physical food, spiritual food needs chewing!

We may have a tendency to speed-read through the passages we’ve read many times before. But doing so, we miss what God wants to show us. One sign might be we learn nothing new from that passage.

David’s desire was right when he wrote in Psalm 119:15, “I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.”

That’s the way to treat God’s word- moreover to take time chewing it.

Only by meditating on His word we can dig out His truths.

Palm Sunday! 🌴

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, “Praise God! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless the King of Israel!”

John 12:13 🌴🌴

A victorious celebration! Though Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him still he he never gave up.

God is Love

Love came down and rescued me! God is love! There is a whole chapter in Bible which talks about his amazing love he has for us. We cannot bound his love in a word or sentence or a chorus.. His love is indefinable! We love him because he loved us first!

Narrow Path

“Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it.  But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.”

Matthew 7:13‭-‬14.
